The Appraisal Institute has signed a memorandum of understanding with Colorado to better promote the appraisal of home energy-saving features and help develop valuation studies with state officials. This is great news as lenders and appraisers are moving to adjust appraisals to include certified ‘Green’ home appraisals that will increase the value of the home. The ‘Green’ financing has already started, where lender let a buyer borrow more money with same down payment and lower interest rates in some cases. Thanks Governor Hickenlooper for the ‘Green’ push!
